Scratch Wedges

|
Sweeper/Slider
Golfer Profile: Shallow angle of
attack / Sweeps ball off Turf / Little to no divots
Mis-hits commonly thin.
Description: The lower bounce angle
and thinner sole help prevent the club from bouncing off the
turf, causing a thin shot. The higher camber allows the ball
to be swept off the turf. The generous trailing edge relief
allows the club to open without the leading edge coming off
the ground.
Theory
A shallower angle of attack demands a rounder sole and
less bounce, so the club can slide across the ground and
under the ball.
A sweeper swing sweeps the ball off the turf while
keeping the club along the ground.
The thinner sole and higher camber keeps the club from
bouncing, allowing the blade to scoop the ball forward and
up.

Driver/Slider
Golfer Profile: Moderate angle of
attack / Swing aggressive through shot / Small to medium
divots Mis-hits are both fat and thin.
Description: Aggressive relief in
the heel and toe and extreme trailing edge relief allow the
leading edge to sit lower to the ground. The high bounce
angle reduces the digging action on fuller shots, while the
thin sole limits contact with the ground, preventing thin
shots.
Theory: This swing type has a
moderately steep angle of attack, so the club drives into
the ball almost as it meets the ground, creating a shallow
divot, before sliding through the shot.
With traits from both digger and sweeper, the swing-type
requires control for fat and thin shots. A medium sole width
and medium effective bounce provides control and added
versatility.

Driver/Slider
Golfer Profile: Moderate angle of
attack / Swing aggressive through shot / Small to medium
divots Mis-hits are both fat and thin.
Description: The moderate bounce
angle and trailing edge relief makes effective bounce lower
when the face is square. A full heel and toe create a higher
bounce wedge when open for bunker play. Center trailing edge
relief allows the leading edge to sit closer to the ground
for high, soft shots around the green.

Digger/Driver
Golfer Profile: Steep angle of attack
/ Drives through shot / Medium to large divots / Mis-hits
commonly fat.
Description: A higher bounce angle
and flat, non-cambered sole helps prevent fat shots.
Aggressive asymetrical heel and toe relief simulates a wider
sole wedge when the face is square. The versatile relief
allows the face to be opened around the green without
increasing the leading edge height.
Theory: with a steeper angle of
attack, the club cuts into the ground after it makes
contact, then rises out of the ground due to the higher
bounce bounce angle and wider sole.
The digger drives down and through the
shot. To better accomplish this, the sole design needs a
wider sole and a high effective bounce.

Digger/Driver
Golfer Profile: Steep angle of attack
/ Drives through shot / Medium to large divots / Mis-hits
commonly fat.
Description: A pure sand wedge. The
high bounce angle with little camber or relief creates a
high effective bounce angle when the face is square or
opened up for sand play. The perfect complement to the SFU
